The blade:
is forged from high quality 1045 carbon steel and hardened with a hardness of 45 HRC for a good hardness and flexibility of the blade. The blade is polished, sharpened and has a ground hamon.

The handle:
is made of sturdy solid wood, which ensures good stability and durability. Inlays made of real ray skin (same) are incorporated into the handle. The grip tape is kept black.

The sword scabbard:
is made of wood and has a high-gloss varnish. It has an extra recess into which the included accessory knife (Kozuka) is inserted. The band on the scabbard is made of black cotton.

Due to its nature, the sword is suitable for cutting tests because it has a continuous tang that is anchored in the handle with mekugi. Therefore it can be used for cutting tests with soft targets (e.g. fruits, PET bottles, etc.). We recommend having the blade sharpened for this.
